Selecting the correct grip size for your tennis racket is very important because this selection will impact your stroke execution. The appropriate grip, in fact, will allow you to have control of your equipment making it easier to handle.
There are six european sizes available in our store that range from L0 to L5. However, frequently, the sizes are indicated on the racket itself in inches. In the table below you will find the sizes in inches and the corresponding european sizes and the generic use:
Inches | Grip Size | Use |
4 | L 0 |
Children |
4 1/8 | L 1 |
Children and Women |
4 1/4 | L 2 | Kids and Women |
4 3/8 | L 3 | Men and Kids |
4 1/2 | L 4 | Men with large hands |
4 5/8 | L 5 | Men with very large palms |
If you are undecided between two sizes choose the smaller of the two, for you will be able to increase the circumference of the grip by almost 2 millimeters with an overgrip to reach the perfect size for you.
Understanding if the grip size of the racket you have is correct is simple.
Hold the racket as shown in the photo, if a space remains between the point of the finger and the palm, is the size of the index finger, then the size is correct, if the space is less than the index finger you should choose a a larger size, contrary, if the space is greater tha the index finger you should choose a smaller grip.
Remember: the incorrect grip size can cause problems to the elbow joints, like tennis elbow.
